Terms of Service

Last updated: July 08, 2026

Welcome to LocalMediaEngine. By downloading, installing, or using this desktop application and its related services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the software.

Merchant of Record Notice: My billing and order fulfillment services are conducted by Paddle. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all my software license sales. All customer service inquiries regarding checkout payments, billing disputes, and local transaction taxes should be directed to Paddle.

1. License Grant

Subject to your selection of a free or premium tier subscription, I grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to run one instance of LocalMediaEngine on your personal computing hardware for individual or industrial media production use.

2. Restrictions on Use

You agree that you will not, and will not permit any third party to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Python desktop application executable or its internal local mechanics.
  • Bypass, modify, or defeat the secure subscription validation handshake framework or proxy API endpoints.
  • Rent, lease, sub-license, or redistribute subscription keys to external users.

3. Intellectual Property

All software architectures, UI layouts, styling formats, code signatures, and branding elements associated with Local MediaEngine are my exclusive intellectual property. Unauthorized replication or distribution of my source assets is strictly prohibited.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Premium modules (including Watch Folders, Cloud Sync, and the VFX Image Engine) require a valid subscription key generated by Paddle. Subscriptions auto-renew according to your chosen plan period (monthly, semi-annually, or annually) unless canceled before your next renewal cycle date. Prices are subject to change, but you will receive notification prior to any automated modifications.

5. Limitation of Liability

LocalMediaEngine is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. I am not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the application, including but not limited to corruption of local media assets, system downtime, data losses, or host network configuration errors.

6. Termination

I reserve the right to suspend or terminate your premium access validation instantly if you break any protocol terms outlined in this agreement, with no obligation to refund residual billing balances.

7. Contact

If you have any questions regarding these Terms of Service, please reach out directly via email at support@yourdomain.com.
